The City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications (SRTA-City) participated in a workshop titled “Egypt Community Meetup 2024 for MATLAB & Simulink,” organized by MathWorks in collaboration with the Information Technology Institute (ITI) at the Smart Village in Cairo on January 30, 2024. Prof. Dr. Hanan Ali Hassan Ismail, the Head of the Networks and Distributed Systems Department and Supervisor of the Data Center at the Informatics Research Institute (IRI) in SRTA-City, emphasized that the workshop aimed to provide Egyptian experts with the opportunity to connect and exchange ideas and experiences in various fields such as Electronics, Communications, Modeling, Dynamic Systems, Algorithm Implementation, Drug Discovery, and Solar Energy. Prof. Dr. Hanan Ali Hassan Ismail delivered a lecture introducing the “Egyptian National HPC Grid (EnHPCg).” The project, funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), aims to familiarize researchers with the significance of using high-performance computing and the EnHPCg grid system in general, along with specific methods of utilizing MATLAB. She also highlighted the achievements of the project in collaboration with MathWorks and showcased how researchers in the city and alliance institutions have employed MATLAB in diverse areas such as Solar Energy, Sensor Networks, Drug Discovery, Sustainable Agriculture, and Climate Change.
