To Strengthen Scientific Research Capabilities.. Scientific Research City Organizes a Workshop in Cooperation with Microsoft on Artificial Intelligence Technologies

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah, Acting Director of the Scientific Research and Technological Applications City, the city organized a specialized workshop in collaboration with Microsoft entitled: “Activating Artificial Intelligence Services in the Field of Scientific Research.” The workshop was delivered by Eng. Ahmed Ali, AI Business Solutions Engineer for the Middle East and Africa Region at Microsoft, who served as the keynote speaker.

This event comes within the framework of the city’s commitment to keeping pace with the digital revolution and harnessing technology to serve science, as well as the fruitful cooperation between the Scientific Research City and Microsoft. The workshop was attended by deans of research institutes, a number of research staff members at the city, and faculty members from neighboring universities interested in AI applications in academic environments, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah emphasized that this workshop is not an exceptional event, but rather the starting point for a series of joint initiatives with major technology companies aimed at establishing a “Digital Excellence Unit for Scientific Research” within the city. He noted that the city possesses the latest accredited AI-powered programs and added that real investment today lies in developing human capital. He stressed that equipping researchers and scholars with AI skills will directly contribute to accelerating innovation and reducing the time required for complex analyses, ensuring that Egyptian research projects emerge with standards and outcomes that meet global levels and compete strongly on the international stage.

Eng. Ahmed Ali presented a package of key topics, beginning with a comprehensive introduction to integrating artificial intelligence into the research environment, followed by a detailed overview of Microsoft’s smart tools and how to maximize their benefits, with a focus on institutional data protection mechanisms and information security. The workshop also included a technical comparison between different systems and methods for formulating smart prompts to obtain the most accurate results. The event concluded with a practical hands-on demonstration, followed by an open discussion session to answer all participants’ questions.

The workshop achieved significant engagement and wide benefit among attendees, who highlighted the practical value of the content in enhancing scientific research methodologies and data management practices.
