Within the framework of strengthening international scientific cooperation between the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications and international research and academic bodies, and in continuation of scientific cooperation between the City and the Slovak Academy of Sciences – Bratislavia – Slovakia, the City organized through the Research Institute for Advanced Technology and New Materials in cooperation with the Center for Experimental Medicine of the Slovak Academy Science lecture entitled: “REDOX PROPERTIES OF THIOL COMPOUNDS AND MN(III) PORPHYRINS. EXPERIMENTAL AND PRE-CLINICAL OBSERVATIONS” It was held on June 4, 2024 at the city’s headquarters in the new city of Burj Al Arab. This was attended by the deans and heads of research centers and institutes, the members of the city’s research staff, and Dr. Catherine Valkova, head of the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry for Pharmaceuticals at the Institute of Experimental Pharmacy and Toxicology, affiliated with the Slovak Academy of Sciences ( Lecturer) and Prof. Dr. Laclav Šurz, Professor at the Slovak Academy of Sciences (lecturer). Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, Director of the City, confirmed that the lecture provides the opportunity to learn about the center’s research activities and the extent to which the City can benefit from these technologies in scientific partnerships with research groups specialized in pharmaceutical sciences, polymers, and research related to wound healing, surgical dressings, and research. Pre-clinical. She also added that the lecture reviewed some of the techniques used to evaluate anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant biomaterials using hyaluronan viscosity measuring devices, the ABTS and DPPH method, and oxygen concentration measuring devices. In addition, the lecture included a presentation of pre-clinical experiments and various research trends within the laboratories of the Department of Bioorganic Pharmaceutical Chemistry in Institute of Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology. Following the lecture, a tour was made to the Research Institute of Advanced Technology and New Materials and the Center for the Development of Pharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical and Brewing Industries due to their common connection with the nature of the work of the Center for Experimental Medicine of the Slovak Academy of Sciences to learn about the research activities in the various laboratories to discuss ways to maximize current scientific cooperation and future cooperation.
