Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, City Director, received a delegation from the Coptic Orthodox Patriarchate in Alexandria, headed by Rev. Boulos Awad, General Secretary of the Patriarchate. This came in the presence of Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah, Deputy City Director for Scientific and Research Affairs, and Professor Dr. Amr Salah, Executive Director. To the offices of Technology Transfer and Marketing and the Entrepreneurship Club in the city, and Ms. Nabila Emil, official of the Karma Center for Career Guidance, today, Wednesday, February 14, 2024. At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Dr. Mona Abdel Latif provided a detailed explanation about the city, its research institutes, and ongoing scientific activities and projects in the city. She also emphasized that the city is implementing its pioneering societal role in cooperation between research institutions and various state institutions in accordance with the National Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2030, and Also, in order to achieve the themes of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the meeting discussed ways of cooperation between the city and the Karma Center in St. Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria through holding innovative competitions in many fields for youth, and holding introductory lectures and specialized courses through the city’s researchers for youth. At the center’s headquarters, inviting students from the St. Mark’s School affiliated with the cathedral to visit the city and learn about its fields, as well as providing the opportunity to help young people to register a patent through the city’s taiko office. It is worth noting that the Al-Karma Center in the cathedral works to create opportunities for communication between young people and the labor market to find suitable job opportunities.
