Participation of the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications in the Arab Youth Entrepreneurship Forum, Fourth Edition

The City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications participated in the Fourth Edition of the Arab Youth Entrepreneurship Forum, organized by the Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Association in collaboration with the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Sciences at Alexandria University. The event took place from November 6th to 7th, 2023, and was attended by Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, the Director of the City, Dr. Suzette El-Redi, the President of the Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Association, Dr. Abdelwahab Ghanem, the Deputy Head of the Arab Union for Digital Economy and a consultant at Cambridge University, Professor Dr. Nadia El-Arif, the President of Aslaska University in Egypt, Ambassador Mohamed El-Rabei, the Secretary-General of the Arab Economic Unity Council at the League of Arab States, and Professor Dr. Ahmed Wahban, the Dean of the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Sciences, as well as leaders from research centers, institutes, universities, industry professionals, research faculty members, and their assistants from the City. Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif emphasized that the forum represents an important opportunity to bring together distinguished and creative Arab youth in the field of entrepreneurship. It provides a platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge, and promotes collaboration in the areas of innovation and technology. The City’s participation in the forum is part of the joint efforts between the City and the Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Association. It is worth mentioning that the City previously organized the Arab Youth Entrepreneurship Forum in its third edition in collaboration with the Economic Development and Entrepreneurship Association. This event took place from June 30th to July 1st, 2022, at the City’s headquarters in Borg El Arab. The collaboration aims to enhance the innovation environment and encourage entrepreneurship in Egypt and the Arab world. Professor Dr. Amr Salah El-Din Morsi, the Executive Director of the Technology Transfer and Marketing Office and the Entrepreneurship Club at the City, pointed out that entrepreneurship is one of the most important sectors that contribute to the development of the economy and the achievement of sustainable development in societies. It promotes innovation and opens up new opportunities for creative and enthusiastic young people to achieve their dreams and turn their ideas into realistic projects. The forum included panel discussions and lectures by researchers from the City, academics, and experts in the field of entrepreneurship, covering various topics. In addition, successful entrepreneurial experiences in Egypt and several Arab countries were presented. The City also participated in the forum with a booth to showcase scientific products and ongoing research in this field. The booth received a high turnout from the attendees and participants in the forum. Workshops were also held to present the ideas of young people, as well as a competition to select the best startup projects to encourage youth to create entrepreneurial ventures.
