the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications “SRTA City” responded to an invitation from the School for Excellence in Science and Technology “STEM” in Borg El Arab, Alexandria, on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, to hold an introductory meeting to discuss the nature of the city’s role and future student projects, as well as to establish a mechanism for their implementation in the city during the coming period. During the meeting, Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, the city’s director, and Professor Dr. Mona Othman, the dean of the Institute of Environmental and Natural Materials Research, along with some researchers from the city, were honored for the city’s support to the school and the provision of research and technological services to the students over the past years. Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif confirmed that the city supports students of STEM schools through the joint cooperation between the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications, the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, represented by the STEM schools at the national level, especially STEM School in Borg El Arab, by benefiting from the research institutes of the city and the expertise of the research faculty members. The goal is to activate the practical aspect of students and develop their abilities in various scientific fields. Students from schools for excellence in science and technology take turns attending to follow up on their practical activities through the well-equipped laboratories of the various institutes in the city, under the supervision of the research faculty members and their assistants in the city. In addition to conducting an inspection tour inside the school’s laboratories, a presentation was made showcasing some of the projects that have been implemented in the city’s laboratories over the past years. Mr. Mahmoud Salah El-Din, the director of the School for Excellence in Science and Technology, praised the city’s role in supporting the school by providing scientific services to students to acquire skills in scientific research. He also commended the Entrepreneurship Club in the city for its role in empowering students and encouraging them to establish entrepreneurial ventures, providing opportunities for communication, learning, and developing professional experiences related to entrepreneurship through participation in the Creative Ideas Competition and many other competitions.
