City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications signed two agreements with Khaled Mesbah Company for the Manufacture of Chemical Products. The first product is the manufacturing and marketing of an organic biological product to treat the problems of calcareous soil (Calci-organo solution), and the second product is the manufacturing and marketing of Green-Compost organic fertilizer (100% natural plant source) to support sustainable agriculture and organic agriculture in Egypt. This came in line with the principle of cooperation between scientific research and the industrial sector in accordance with the National Strategy for Science, Technology, and Innovation 2030, on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the headquarters of the city, in the presence of Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, Director of the city, Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah, Deputy Director of the city for Scientific and Research Affairs, Professor Dr. Amr Salah Morsi, Executive Director of the Technology Transfer and Marketing Office at the city, Associate Professor Dr. Younes Mohamed Rashad, Department of Plant Protection and Diagnosis, Arid Lands Cultivation Research Institute, Dr. Mohamed Hafez Abdel Fattah, Researcher at Arid Lands Cultivation Research Institute, and Mr. Khaled Mohamed Mesbah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Khaled Mesbah Company for the Manufacture of Chemical Products, and the accompanying delegation, and a non-disclosure agreement was also signed between the city and Khaled Mesbah Company for the Manufacture of Chemical Products. Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif stressed the importance of organic fertilization to increase the productivity of agricultural lands and reduce environmental pollution resulting from the overuse of chemical fertilizers. Sustainable agriculture helps to reduce the degradation of agricultural land and protect the environment by using many useful means, and contributes to the preservation of agricultural land and its resources for the longest possible period of time. Among the problems of calcareous soil are a hard surface layer, water scarcity, the need to choose the suitable crops, the problem of nutrient imbalance, and non-permeable subsurface layers. Therefore, the city seeks to address chronic social problems and work to find appropriate solutions through innovative prototypes. Calci-organo solution dissolves calcium carbonate in calcareous soil and increases its fertility from the nitrogen and organic content, as well as improves its physical properties and permeability. This product is characterized by being environmentally friendly and supports organic agriculture and sustainable agriculture.
