Inclusion of 11 Researchers from the City in Stanford University’s List of Top 2% Most Influential Scientists Worldwide

Professor Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, the Director of the City, announced the inclusion of 11 researchers from the City in Stanford University’s list of the top 2% most influential scientists worldwide in over 50 scientific disciplines across various fields of science. She added that this reflects the city’s efforts to enhance the quality of scientific research and international publications in various scientific fields. It is also a continuation of the city’s support for research faculty members to increase their knowledge and keep up with the latest developments in their research work, which in turn reflects on the city’s overall ranking in local and international rankings of research centers and institutes. The list includes the following researchers: Professor Dr. Nora Al-Ahmedi Al-Najjar, research professor at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research, Professor Dr. Mohamed Samir Mohyeldin, research professor at the Institute of Advanced Technology and New Materials Research, Professor Dr. El-Badawi Abdel Aziz Kamoun, research professor at the Institute of Advanced Technology and New Materials Research, Professor Dr. Hisham Ali Hamad, research professor at the Institute of Advanced Technology and New Materials Research, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Omar, assistant research professor at the Institute of Advanced Technology and New Materials Research, Professor Dr. Juma Farouk Al-Fawal, assistant research professor at the Institute of Advanced Technology and New Materials Research, Professor Dr. Mohamed Adel Ali Hassan, assistant research professor at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research, Professor Dr. Marwa Mohamed Abu Saree, assistant research professor at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research, Professor Dr. Ismail El-Fakhrani, assistant research professor at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Khaleq, assistant research professor at the Institute of Arid Land Agriculture Research, and Professor Dr. Tamer Mahmoud Tamer, assistant research professor at the Institute of Advanced Technology and New Materials Research. They were recognized as the top 2% of scientists worldwide based on their overall scientific output for this year (single year). The list also included Professor Dr. Yasser Rafat, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, research professor at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research, Professor Dr. Mohamed Samir Mohyeldin, research professor at the Institute of Advanced Technology and New Materials Research, and Professor Dr. Nora Al-Ahmedi Al-Najjar, research professor at the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research, as the top 2% of scientists worldwide based on their overall scientific output (career). It is worth mentioning that the criteria used for the classification and inclusion of researchers on this list relied on the number of citations of their published research, the index of the number of publications that have been cited by other authors at least the same number of times (h-index), the average hm index for joint authorship, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator (c-score).
