Manufacturing the first research product in cooperation with the industry sector “A highly efficient and eco-friendly biofertilizer for agricultural crops”

An agreement contract was signed between the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications and Khaled Mesbah Company for Chemicals Manufacturing to manufacture a developed product “A highly efficient and eco-friendly biofertilizer for agricultural crops”, which supports the sustainable and organic agriculture in Egypt. This was in implementation of the cooperation between the scientific research institutions and the industry sector in accordance with the National Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2030, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the SRTA-city headquarters. The contract was signed in the presence of Prof. Mona Mahmoud Abd El-Latif – the president of SRTA-city, Prof. Amr Salah Morsy- the executive director of the Technology Innovation and Commercialization Office (TICO) of SRTA-city, Prof. Younes Mohamed Rashad – an associate professor at Plant Protection and Biomolecular Diagnosis Department, Arid Lands Cultivation Research Institute, and Mr. Khaled Mesbah – the Chairman of Khaled Mesbah Company for Chemicals Manufacturing. Prof. Mona Abd El-Latif stated that this product is the SRTA-city’s first research product that will be produced through cooperation with the industry sector and will display the logos of both parties. In addition, this cooperation aimed to support the Egyptian economy in various fields by strengthening and developing the local production, increasing competitiveness, replacing imported local raw materials, finding alternatives that accelerate national production, as well as addressing chronic societal problems and working to find appropriate solutions to them through innovative prototypes. Prof. Younes Rashad – the inventor of this product – indicated that this product is an advanced biofertilizer that can be used with many agricultural crops. It is also environmentally friendly as it contains a number of beneficial microorganisms that promote the plant growth, which will help in saving the use of chemical fertilizers and thus increase the farmer’s profitability. It is worth noting that Khaled Mesbah Company for Chemicals Manufacturing, based in New Burj Al-Arab, is one of the distinguished industrial entities with its industrial expertise, capabilities, and capital and institutional components that enable it to provide and manufacture many industrial products at the local and export market levels.
