Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah, Deputy Director of the City for Scientific and Research Affairs, has assumed the duties of Acting Director of the City.

It is worth noting that Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah is a prominent scientific figure within the City, having previously served as Deputy Director for Scientific and Research Affairs. He has numerous scientific achievements published in top international journals, in addition to his significant contributions to managing research projects and bridging the gap between scientific research and the industrial sector.

He has also held several other positions, most notably:

• Deputy Director of the Alexandria City of Scientific Research for Scientific and Research Affairs from August 2022 to the present.

• Dean of the Arid Lands Agriculture Research Institute (September 2017 - September 2020)

• General Supervisor of the Egyptian Regional Center for the Conservation of Endangered Wild Plant Genetic Resources in El Hammam (April 2016 - September 2020)

• Dean of the Arid Lands Agriculture Research Institute in the city (2013 - 2016)

• Served as Acting Director of the Scientific Research City at various times during 2015.

In the field of scientific excellence:

• Principal Investigator (PI) or member of a research team in major international and national projects.

• Member of several local and international scientific societies.

• Examiner of numerous Master's and Doctoral theses at Egyptian and international universities.

• Participating member of the review board for several international journals.

• Recipient of numerous local and international scientific excellence awards.

• Supervisor of numerous Master's and Doctoral theses at the Universities of Alexandria, Damanhour, Tanta, and Mansoura in various fields. • Published over 80 scientific papers in high-impact international journals.

• Participated in organizing and preparing numerous conferences, seminars, workshops, and training courses.

For his part, Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad emphasized that work in the coming period will focus on several key areas, most importantly: promoting innovation by supporting researchers and innovators in the city to develop advanced national technologies; partnering with industry to activate the city's role as a center of expertise for the industrial zones surrounding Borg El Arab and Alexandria; international cooperation to expand scientific partnerships with international research institutions; and sustainable development by directing scientific research to serve Egypt's Vision 2030, particularly in the fields of energy, water, health, and agriculture.
