Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah, Acting President of the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications, received His Grace Bishop Mina, Bishop of Borg El Arab, Amreya, and its affiliated areas, along with the accompanying church delegation, on Monday, May 25, 2026.

This visit comes within the framework of strengthening community ties and opening new horizons for cooperation between scientific and research institutions and national and religious institutions, emphasizing the role of science in serving society and achieving sustainable development. The meeting was attended by Professor Dr.Yasser Refaat Abdel Fattah, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Planning, Governance, and Research Policies and Applications, in addition to the deans of the research institutes and a number of researchers and administrative staff members of SRTA City.

In a gesture reflecting the deep national bonds and the values of fraternity and love that unite the people of the nation, His Grace Bishop Mina and the accompanying delegation extended their sincere congratulations to Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah and all members of SRTA City, including researchers and administrators, on the occasion of the approaching Eid Al-Adha, wishing Egypt and its people continued prosperity, security, peace, and well-being.

For his part, Professor Dr Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah expressed his great appreciation for these greetings, which reflect the strength of national unity and the strong human relations that connect all state institutions.

During the meeting, Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah reviewed SRTA City’s research capabilities, advanced technologies, and innovative projects implemented in several vital fields, including energy, water, environment, and biotechnology.

His Grace Bishop Mina also expressed his pride in the presence of this distinguished scientific institution in Borg El Arab City, praising the efforts exerted by the researchers to support the national economy and develop society. He emphasized the importance of integrating thought and science to build a better future. The meeting also discussed the possibility of cooperation in the fields of community service and environmental development, as well as organizing joint awareness and developmental convoys to serve the local community.

On the sidelines of the visit, the program included a field tour conducted by His Grace Bishop Mina and the accompanying delegation to various research institutes and central laboratories within the City of Scientific research and Technological Applications. During the tour, the delegation closely observed the advanced scientific equipment and applied research outputs, and listened to detailed explanations from the researchers on how these laboratory capabilities and innovations are being utilized to provide practical solutions to developmental and industrial challenges.

At the conclusion of the visit, Professor Dr.Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah presented SRTA City’s shield to His Grace Bishop Mina in appreciation of his honorable visit and his prominent national and social role. In return, His Grace presented the shield of the Diocese of Borg El Arab and Amreya to Professor Dr. Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah in recognition of the efforts exerted to advance the City and its distinguished role in serving the educational and research community, wishing all staff members continued success and progress in serving the Homeland.
