As part of Egypt's commitment to supporting agricultural innovation and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and in furtherance of the nation's innovation journey while reinforcing the partnership between science and development, Professor Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah, Acting Director of the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications, announced SRTA City's honorary sponsorship of the launch of the scientific conference entitled "Agricultural Innovation: From Idea to Application", together with its accompanying competition, "Agricultural Innovation for Sustainable Development 2026."

The event was held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the supervision of the Scientific Research Sector of Misr El Kheir Foundation, the conference's official sponsor, and in fruitful cooperation with the Foundation-funded "Injecting Sandy Soil with Clay" project.

SRTA City 's sponsorship of the conference underscores the strong integration between Egypt's leading scientific research institutions and national development initiatives. The event brought together a distinguished group of executives, academic, and research leaders, representatives of Arab and regional organizations, universities, and research centers, in addition to senior executives from national companies supporting agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship.

In his keynote address, Professor Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah emphasized that the City of Scientific Research is no longer merely a collection of laboratories and closed research centers, but has evolved into a strategic partner and a key driver of Egypt's comprehensive development process. He noted that SRTA City's participation in the conference is fully aligned with the national strategy of linking scientific research outcomes to sustainable development sectors.

He stressed that the ultimate objective is not simply to publish scientific research, but to harness technology and innovation and transform them into practical solutions that directly benefit Egyptian farmers and producers, thereby contributing to building a promising agricultural future for Egypt.

In conclusion, Professor Mohamed Rashad Abdel Fattah invited all national institutions and organizations to establish joint cooperation protocols with the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications in order to benefit from its advanced infrastructure and scientific capabilities, and to contribute to transforming innovative ideas into national projects that serve the Egyptian economy and support the country's sustainable development .
