City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications (SRTA-City) is one of the recent scientific research institutions in Egypt, SRTA-City was founded in 1993, where the Presidential Decree was issued to establish 12 research institutes and technological centers. The official opening SRTA-city was on August 13th, 2000. Since then, SRTA-city has been working on acquiring and applying the newest scientific technologies in different areas of industrial aspects as well as human life. Currently, the research focus of SRTA-City is directed to Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Informatics Technology, Advanced Technology and New Materials, Arid Lands Cultivation, Environment and Natural Material, Pharmaceutical and Fermentation Industries Development, and Technology Capabilities Development research areas.
